...kale chips and gwyneth paltrow

I bought Gwyneth Paltrow's cookbook because I'm obsessed with her and she was on the cover of my Bon Appetit, which I thought gave her some more street cred in the cooking world. I decided I will cook my way through it this summer, Julie and Julia style, and first up is kale chips. The easiest recipe in the book...starting off strong...

So, I've seen these elsewhere and been wanting to make them for a while, but kept forgetting. They are surprisingly tasty, and very easy (like toss in olive oil and bake easy) and the best part? Kale is freaking cheap. Like I spent 31 cents on kale at the store cheap.

Recipe:
1 big bunch of kale, stems discarded and leaves torn into pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
sea salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees, toss the kale with the olive oil and spread out on 2 baking sheets. Sprinkle with salt and roast for 12-15 minutes, until lightly browned and crispy!

  1. I don't know if I believe you or Gwynnie that these are tasty. I might just have to try them and see!

  2. I'm making these for lunch! Unfortunately Kale is a bit more expensive in Australia ($2.99 for a little bunch). :)
